East
Sussex County Council selects Call Flow to deliver a radio broadband
to Isfield - the last unviable BT exchange in East Sussex.
Isfield pub leads the way with broadband service
The village pub has become the first customer for Isfield's new
radio broadband service. Andy Brooks, licensee of The Laughing Fish,
signed up for the service immediately he heard that the village
was finally going to be connected to the communications super-highway.
He had feared that the community would be left permanently in the
slow lane after BT decided not to include the local exchange in
its upgrading programme. But East Sussex County Council has pledged
to make broadband available to anyone in the county who wants it,
irrespective of their location by December 2005. So, through its
Broadband East Sussex partnership, it joined with the South East
England Development Agency and service provider Call Flow Solutions
to help set up a radio broadband facility in the area.
